Any of the airports in north-eastern Spain are within a comfortable drive to our base near Valderrobres. The biggest airport with by far the best selection of flights, is Barcelona airport (BCN) at about 2.5 hours from Valderrobres. Other smaller airports are up to an hour closer, but all have far fewer fights, leaving Barcelona as normally the best option.

Driving from UK to Spain either involves taking the long way down through France, or an easier ferry crossing from Plymouth or Portsmouth to either Bilbao or Santander. From Bilbao it's less than 5 hours drive to Valderrobres, a little more from Santander.
Spain has one of the most efficient and best connected public transportation systems in Europe. Trains and buses are frequent, reliable and the cost is a lot less than in most nearby countries. The journey from Barcelona to Valderrobres for example, costs about 20 euros. Arriving from the Barcelona or Valencia directions, our nearest train station is Tortosa. From there, it's about an hour by bus to Valderrobres. From Madrid and western Spain, the nearest train station is Zaragoza, and from there it's by bus to Alcañiz, a short drive from Valderrobres.
